Shippensburg Wrestling

Cole Forrester took a large step toward a District 3-A wrestling title after he pinned two opponents in the 220 bracket on Thursday at the Giant Center.

Forrester decked Brock Crawford of New Oxford in 1:06 and then had to go a second longer before pinning Dustin Swanson of Garden Spot in 1:07. He moves to the semi-finals on Friday against Joseph Bearinger of Cocalico at 5:30 PM.

Jeffrey Russell at 113 lost his first round match 6-4 to Matthew Ethan Rodriguez of Dover. He responded to beat Ethan Ketner of Hershey 4-1 in the first round of consolations and Creed Bogardus of Cedar Cliff 7-2 in the second round to stay alive in the consolations.

Dylan Ramsey at 120 upset Chase Bricker of Spring Grove 3-2 in the opening round and then dropped a 7-0 decision to Josiah Gehr of Cocalico in the quarter-finals. He then dropped a 4-2 decision to Cael Turnbull of Dallastown, ending his season.

Eddie Ocker at 160 was the other Greyhound participant. He dropped a 4-0 decision to  Ethan Baney of South Western and then won his first consolation match by an 8-0 major decision over David Hnasko of Warwick. He dropped a second round consolation match 2-1 to Nick Baker of Penn Manor.
