BOYS BASKETBALL
Chambersburg 54, Central Dauphin 44: It took a dominating overtime to do it, but the Trojans managed to leave Central Dauphin with a 54-44 Mid Penn Commonwealth victory Friday night.

The Rams held Chambersburg (14-4, 8-3 MPC) to just 16 points in the second half and outscored the Trojans 15-7 in the final quarter, tying the game on a long 3-pointer by Ryan Smith with about 20 seconds to go. Chambersburg hit only 4 of 9 foul shots in the period.

Chambersburg coach Shawn Shreffler said, “Our defense was very good in overtime. It was good for us to be in a situation like that and I was encouraged by how we responded to it.”

Leading scorer Joel Torres, who is injured, did not play in the game, and the timetable for his return is unknown. But Brouse stepped up with a career-high 19 points, Brindle also added 14 points and Tyler Collier came through with 11.
