Blazers fall to Broadfording

First-place Broadfording scored the game’s first eight points and went on to defeat the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers 66-36 in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys basketball game Tuesday evening.

The Blazers (5-10, 3-5 MCDD) were led by freshman Caleb Eckert’s 17 points. Senior Jesus Pena added nine. Tervon Bonnito led Broadfording with 15 points.

The Blazers were outrebounded 47-28 and shot only 6-for-11 from the foul line. The Blazers did force 22 turnovers.

“Our defense was good,” Blazers coach Austin Sanders said, “but we just couldn’t put the ball in the basket enough.”
