Shippensburg Boy’s Basketball

Carter Van Scyoc led his squad to two victories this weekend as the Greyhounds moved a step ahead of Greencastle-Antrim ahead of their first place match-up on Monday at Greencastle.

The ‘Hounds pounded Northern York Friday 72-42 and Mechanicsburg 45-25 on Saturday in the Dunks for Drew Classic at Chambersburg.

Shippensburg knocked down eight three-point shots on Friday night and outscored the Polar Bears 35-18 in the middle two quarters.

Van Scyoc tallied 24 points and got 15 from Adam Houser. Colin Taylor added nine and Alaric Hickman scored seven.

Ryan McGill led the Polar Bears with 22 points.

On Saturday,  Zachary Cullen led the way as he drained two 3-point shots and two other baskets in the opening half. He finished the game with 14 points. Van Scyoc led the Greyhounds with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Colin Taylor added six points and seven rebounds.

Shippensburg improves to 6-0 in the Colonial and 11-1 overall. They face Greencastle on Monday. Greencastle sits at 5-0 in the Colonial and 9-3 overall. They will play again on January 30th at Shippensburg.
