Greencastle boys fall to Northeastern 75-63, GA girls win 40-29

Antonio Ruzzito had a record breaking night for the Northeastern Bobcats scoring 47 points which is an all time record for the Greencastle gym with 30 of those points coming from 10 three pointers. The Bobcats remain undefeated with a 75-63 win over the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils. Greencastle falls to 8-2 while the Bobcats improve to 9-0.

The game was tied 21-21 after the first quarter, was a three point game at the half  as Northeastern lead 36-33.

Greencastle will host Spring Grove Monday, on Tuesday they travel to Waynesboro for a key Colonial Division match up, play at Chambersburg in the Dunks for Drew  on Saturday.

The loss snapped a seven game winning streak for Greencastle. The Blue Devils two losses have come to Chambersburg the #3 ranked 6A team in PIAA District 3, and tonight’s loss to the Bobcats, ranked # 2 in 5A.

Brandon Stuhler lead the Blue Devils with 20 points, Ben Freeman had 13, Ian Gelsinger and Bryan Gembe scored 10, while Jason Freeman added seven and Bryson Robinson three.

In addition to Ruzzito’s 47, Fred Mulbaugh had 12, Nathan Eyster six, Nate Oliver five and DJ Hamilton scored two points for the Bobcats.

The Lady Blue Devils outscored Northeastern 21-7 in the second half including 12-0 in the third quarter to defeat the Northeastern Bobcats  40-29 at Manchester Saturday night.  With the win the Blue Devils improve to 5-4. and end a three game losing streak. The Blue Devils trailed 22-19 at the half before holding the Bobcats to just seven points in the second half.

Greencastle was lead by Madison Sweitzer with nine points, Lydia Crist with seven and Ashley Noblit with six. The Blue Devils were 8 of 22 from the foul line.

Greencastle will be home on Tuesday night for a Colonial Division match up with the Waynesboro Maidens and play Chambersburg Saturday in Dunks for Drew at 6:00 p.m.
