Trojan wrestling team improves record to 5-1

CHAMBERSBURG — Chambersburg won 11 of the 14 bouts Thursday night to take a 55-15 Mid Penn Commonwealth wrestling victory over Harrisburg at the CASHS Auxiliary Gym.

The Trojans (5-1), who are ranked No. 3 in the District 3 Class 3A power rankings, racked up six pins, from Guy Lozius (182), Wyatt Hull (220), Tyler Smith (106), Will Sharrar (113) and Cole Grove (126).

Seth Runshaw (132) and Tate Nichter (145) notched major decisions, and Spencer Runshaw (138) and Luke Nichter (170) took decisions.

Luke Nichter’s win came over Nehemiah Diggs, who was sixth in District 3 last year. Nichter scored two takedowns in the second period to make the difference, and was aided by three penalty points.
