Greencastle boys roll over Big Spring 79-45, girls lose 46-21

The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils erupted for their biggest offensive output of the season defeating the Big Spring Bulldogs 79-45. Every player on the Blue Devils scored and four reached double figures. Brian Gembe lead Greencastle with 19, Ian Gelsinger had 14, Jason Freeman 11 and Ben Freeman 10. The Blue Devils made 10 three point shots on the night and built a 29-9 lead after the first quarter and lead 45 -15 at the half. Greencastle was a perfect five for five from the foul line on the night.

Big Spring was lead by Peyton Bechtold with 15 points and Gavin Pritchard with 12.

The win was the seventh straight for Greencastle as they improved to 8-1 and 4-0 in the Colonial Division.

The Blue Devils return home Friday for the first time in nearly a month after seven straight road games to host Shippensburg. Friday will start a stretch of four games in five days. On Saturday the Blue Devils host powerful Northeastern,are home Monday night January 8 with Spring Grove and are on the road in Waynesboro on Tuesday January 9.

GREENCASTLE GIRLS
The Lady Blue Devils lost their third consecutive game dropping a 46-21 decision to the Big Spring Bulldogs. Greencastle made only 7 of 44 field goal attempts and shot 4 for 13 from 3-point range. Lydia Crist lead the Blue Devils with 10 points including three from 3 point range.

The Lady Bulldogs outscored Greencastle 27-6 in the second half.

With the loss Greencastle is now 4-4 overall and 3-1 in Colonial Division play.
