BOYS BASKETBALL

State College 57, Chambersburg 49: The Little Lions outscored the Trojans 29-6 in the third period to take control of the Mid Penn Commonwealth game Wednesday night.

Chambersburg led 27-16 at halftime, but State College got hot and turned it around for a double-digit lead before the third quarter was over.

The Trojans fought back to get within 3 points at 52-49 on a Cade Brindle 3-pointer with 47 seconds left, but the Little Lions (6-0, 4-0 MPC) closed it out at the free throw line.

Chambersburg (5-2, 2-2 MPC) is off until meeting South Western on Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the first round of the Gettysburg Tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

State College 39, Chambersburg 28: The Little Lions outscored the Trojans in each of the first three quarters on Wednesday night and captured a 39-28 Mid Penn Commonwealth win at CASHS Field House.

Maya Bokunewicz led State College (4-2, 2-2 MPC) with 13 points. For Chambersburg (2-4, 0-4 MPC), Ashley Adams led the way with 8 points.

Only 20 fouls were called in the game and only 11 foul shots taken.
