Southern Fulton 66 Northern Bedford 39

The Southern Fulton Indians hosted the Black Panthers of Northern Bedford tonight in Warfordsburg in a SHL/ICC game.  Southern Fulton started the game on a 20-4 run and never looked back as they won convincingly 66-36.  SF improves to 2-1 (2-0 ICC and 2-1 SHL) on the season.  NB falls to 2-2 on the season.  Sophomores’ Justin Morris and Gabe Stotler led a balanced attack for the Indians with 15 pts each.  Branden Lynch finished with 10pts and 9 rebounds.  Jaden Fernandez paced the visitors with 12 pts. SF travels to Saxton to take on league foe Tussey Mt. on Friday, Dec 22 (7:30pm).

Forbes Road 61 Tussey Mountain 49

FR (2-2, 1-2 SHL, 1-1 ICC) overcame a sluggish first quarter to upend Tussey Mountain. Brycen Hohman, again, led the offense with 20 points and Grayson Hall added 14. Cardinal Coach Trent Black commented, “This was the most balanced scoring effort we have seen this season, including some major contributions off the bench from Ethan Wright and Shane Schepis.” The Cardinals travel to Southern Huntingdon on Friday, Dec 22, for their next contest.

Everett 56 McConnellsburg 41

The Spartans (0-2, 0-2 SHL, 0-2 ICC) traveled to Everett and dropped a League contest 56-41. Dominick Reed led the Spartans with a game high 18 points. Spartan Coach Drew Washabaugh said, “We started out sluggish and just couldn’t climb back into it.  We would get it within 5 points and then make a mistake.  We have to make smarter plays.  Give Everett credit. They are a well coached team. ” The Spartans will host Northern Bedford on Thursday, December 21. JV score was MHS 29, Everett 39.  High scorer was Damon Knepper with 7.

Southern Huntingdon 81 Fannett Metal 48

Southern Huntingdon hosted Fannett Metal (0-3, 0-3 SHL, 0-3 ICC) and outscored the Tigers 25-5 in the first quarter and went on to an 81-48 League victory. Leading scorer for the Tigers was Lucas Wingert with 25 points. Assistant Coach Tony Brookens said, “Mentally we were not ready at the start of the game.” The Tigers next game will be at home on Friday, December 22, against Everett.
