GIRLS BASKETBALL
CD East 42, Chambersburg 39: The Trojan offense came to a grinding halt in the fourth quarter and Central Dauphin East took advantage, rallying for a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division victory Friday night at CASHS Field House.
Chambersburg led by 9 points, 34-25, at the end of three quarters. But the Trojans could muster only two buckets by Ashley Adams — who led the team with 19 points — and a foul shot by Ariana Burke in the final 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Panthers outscored the Trojans 17-5 in the final period, led by Anni Green, who tallied 10 of her 19 points, including a pair of three-point plays.
The difference came at the foul line. East was 14-for-25, while Chambersburg (2-2, 0-2 MPC) was a chilly 5-for-17. In the fourth period, CDE went to the line 10 times and the Trojans only twice. In the second and third quarters combined, Chambersburg made only 2 of 10 free throws.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Chambersburg 45, CD East 39: The Trojans took a two-point lead (23-21) into the second half and never lost the advantage, producing a big road win over Central Dauphin East in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game Friday night.
Chambersburg (4-0, 2-0 MPC) led by as many as nine points in the latter half, although the Panthers got it down to two points on several occasions.
With 1:04 left, the Trojans turned it over, leading 43-39. But Tyler Collier then made a steal under the basket at 0:43, was fouled, and made one free throw. East turned it over again, but Chambersburg gave it back with 16 seconds left.
After a Panther missed shot, Evan Shreffler hit 1 of 2 from the line with 0:08 left to post the final score. Chambersburg was 13-for-19 at the line, including 7 of 10 in the fourth period.
Joel Torres led the Trojans with 22 points, while Cade Brindle and Collier each scored 9.
