Shippensburg football

The Shippensburg Greyhounds dropped a very tough 15-13 decision to the West Perry Mustangs on Friday night. Carter Van Scyoc connected with Cain Fridinger for a score with just under two minutes to play. A subsequent two-point conversion pass to tie the game was intercepted by West Perry. The Mustangs recovered the onside kick to run out the clock.

West Perry took an early 9-0 lead on a Kenyon Johnson 29-yard scoring run and a Zach Quaker 24-yard field goal.

Shippensburg cut the deficit to 9-7 at the half on a Van Scyoc to Ethan Stauffer TD pass.

West Perry (4-5) extended their lead to 8 on another Johnson scoring run before the late Greyhound chance.

Shippensburg (5-4) currently sits in the 8th spot and must beat Big Spring in the Little Brown Jug game this week to make the playoffs.
