Trojan field hockey loses tough one

State College 3, Chambersburg 2, OT: The Trojan field hockey team opened its season Monday afternoon at Trojan Stadium and lost a heartbreaker in overtime to State College, 3-2. Chambersburg twice had one-goal deficits, but Sage Piper goals evened the count at 1-1 and 2-2. Kelsey Love’s second goal for the Little Lions was the game-winner.

Rachel Dusman and Molly Keefer had assists for the Trojans.

New Chambersburg coach Dani Clutter said, “It was a very defensive game for us and we were battling in our defensive half quite a bit. The flip side is, we executed when we had our opportunities in the circle. It was a good game to build on for the start of the season. I am really proud of their determination throughout the whole game.”
