Chambersburg 1, Bishop McDevitt 1: The Crusaders evened the score with around 15 minutes left in regulation and the Trojans had to settle for a non-league tie Tuesday night at Trojan Stadium.

“Overall, the girls kept the energy level up throughout, and fought to win and maintain the ball,” Chambersburg coach Paul Unruh said.

Late in the first half, Claire Onomastico carried the ball inside the penalty area and was taken down, resulting in a penalty kick. Maddie Mills took the kick for Chambersburg (5-11-1) and found the net with a well-placed shot.

Unruh said, “We were able to stay organized in the second half, but unfortunately they scored on a bullet header off a corner kick.”

Bishop McDevitt is 12-2-1 and ranked No. 3 in the District 3 Class 2A rankings.
