Greencastle-Antrim 4, Waynesboro 1: Mason DeVaughn was a force on offense for the Blue Devils in a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Indians in a game at Kaley Field on Monday night.
DeVaughn scored a goal and assisted on 3 others for Greencastle (8-4-2, 4-4-2 MPC), giving him 8 goals and 17 assists for his junior season.
The other goal scorers for G-A were Logan Andou, Biruk Facchina and Caleb Noll.
“It was senior night and we had our two injured players, Jack Michalsky and Jesse Fye, take a ceremonial kick,” Blue Devil coach Ryan Palmer said. “Bryce Wilson, Blaine Martin, Blake Witmer, Biruk Facchina, Carlos Reyes and Caleb Noll all played a great game in front of the home crowd.”
Waynesboro is 0-11.
FIELD HOCKEY
Greencastle-Antrim 4, Central Dauphin East 0: Natalie Medina scored 3 goals for the second consecutive game to lead the Blue Devils to a Mid Penn Colonial victory at Kaley Field on Monday evening.
In addition to Medina’s goals, Rowan Shubert knocked one into the cage. Sydnee Bosko assisted on two of Medina’s goals and Shubert had the assist on the other.
G-A coach Keara Allshouse said, “It was a good way to start off a three-game week. Medina had a fantastic hat trick and Bosko was able to help assist on two of those with fantastic passes and inserts into the circle.”
Greencastle is now 8-3 (7-2 MPC) and trails only Gettysburg in the Colonial standings.
GIRLS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 1, Waynesboro 0: The Blue Devils took the short trip to Waynesboro and came home with a 1-0 victory over the Maidens in a Mid Penn Colonial scrap Monday night.
Braelyn Cordell tallied the goal for Greencastle (5-4-2, 3-3-2 MPC). Ava Cottrell was credited with the assist.
Waynesboro is 0-13.
