GREENCASTLE — Susquehanna Township came ready to play Friday night and outplayed Greencastle-Antrim from the beginning of their Mid Penn Colonial football game.

The Indians scored twice in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 42-0 whitewash of the Blue Devils at Kaley Field. Sincere Littlejohn scored the final 3 touchdowns for ST.

“They are a pretty solid team,” G-A coach Jason Thurston said. “We made some small mistakes that they made us pay for. We had gotten away with some of them against lesser teams, but not against Susquehanna.”

The defense for the Indians (2-2, 1-0 MPC) allowed a total of only 122 yards by Greencastle’s offense. That included only 54 yards on the ground on 27 carries and 68 yards passing on 6 completions in 15 tries.

Thurston said, “They dominated all night. We might have forced one or two punts, but they scored every other time they got the ball. And we struggled to even get first downs (7 for the game). Township will win a lot of game this year.”

Wyatt Hull caught 4 passes for 62 yards to pace the offense for the Blue Devils (2-2, 0-1 MPC). Landon Kagarise and Brycen Ricker each ran for 16 yards and Spencer Long added 12. Gavin Logsdon threw for 46 yards and Iverson Stoner gained another 22 through the air.

On defense for G-A, Robert Sanders and Ryan Schick each made 3 tackles and defended a pass.

“We just didn’t block or tackle well tonight,” Thurston said. “The kids did stay together and play football. We just have to learn from this and get ready for next week.”

Next Friday night, Greencastle travels to play at Boiling Springs.
