Greencastle-Antrim 24, Waynesboro 35: The Blue Devils placed four runners within the top six finishers to earn a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Indians on Tursday afternoon in a home meet.

For Greencastle (2-0, 2-0 MPC), Billy Bender took second place in 18:29 and Micah Barrett was third in 18:39.

Kelson Wenger crossed in 19:21 to take fifth and Ace Monn was next in 19:37.

Three straight Blue Devils in 8th, 9th and 10th sewed up the victory. They were Collin Thomas (20:18), Trent Gouker (20:22) and Liam Eckstine (20-28).

For Waynesboro, Nate Snyder crossed the finnish line first, with a time of 18:09, 20 seconds ahead of Bender.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Waynesboro 28, Greencastle-Antrim 29: Despite the Blue Devils putting four of the first six runners across the line, the Maidens perservered by a single point in a Mid Penn Colonial meet Turesday afternoon at G-A.

Greencastle (0-2, 0-2 MPC) had only 4 runners in the race, so it had to count 12th place after Waynesboro had its first 7 runners finish.

Avery Russell took second place in 21:48 for the Blue Devils, Sophia Denlinger was fourth in 23:38, Lillian Denlinger took fifth in 23:52, and Monica Schemel was sixth in 24:32.

For the Maidens, Morgan Jones won the race in 20:13.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Gettysburg 1: The Blue Devils won the first two games, then after the Warriors got one back, G-A closed the Mid Penn Colonial victory with a 25-18 win in set 3 on Tuesday evening at home.

The Blue Devils (2-2, 1-0 MPC) won the first two games 25-21 and 25-20.

Chloe Young knocked down 11 kills for Greencastle on just 13 attempts, hitting .769. She also led the team with 5 blocks.

Scarlett Norton and Ryane Kueppers ruled on the serving line — Kueppers had 12 points and 2 aces and Norton had 10 points and a pair of aces. Kira Johnson and Madison McDonald each had 8 points.

Jordyn Wagner came up with a team-high 15 kills and had 10 digs, Norton added 9 digs, McDonald had 10 digs and Johnson (20) and Terryn Bard (17) split 37 assists.
