Chambersburg 3, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Blue Devils lost a heartbreaker in the first game (26-24) that gave the Trojans an edge they maintained in a non-league match Thursday night at home.
Greencastle (1-2) got 9 kills, 2 aces and 10 digs from Jordyn Wagner, while Scarlett Norton had 2 aces and 7 digs.
Also finding the stat sheet were Alex Seville (8 kills), Terryn Bard (6 service points), Hayden Baer (4 blocks), Madison McDonald (10 digs) and Kira Johnson (24 assists).
Greencastle 3, Bishop McDevitt 2: On Wednesday, the Blue Devils traveled to play McDevitt and earned a 3-2 non-league victory. The Crusaders led 2-1, until G-A won Game 4 25-22, and then prevailed in the fifth game, 15-13.
Jordyn Wagner had 11 kills, 6 blocks, 9 service points and 3 aces for the Blue Devils. Hayden Baer came up with 3 aces, 9 points and 5 blocks. Also, Scorlett Norton had 7 kills and 15 digs, Chloe Young had 7 kills, Terryn Bard had 3 aces, Madison McDonald made 14 digs and Kira Johnson had 22 assists.
FIELD HOCKEY
Red Land 6, Greencastle-Antrim 0: In a non-league contest Thursday night in Lewisberry, the Patriots scored 5 of their 6 goals off penalty corners and the other was on a penalty stroke to defeat the Blue Devils.
“We had to defend against 24 penalty corners,” G-A coach Keara Allshouse said. “The entire team worked together on defense to defend every drive on goal. We communicated constantly and played hard until the final whistle.
“We have things we need to work on, especially our double teams, and Red Land made us work really hard tonight.”
Blue Devil goalie Katy Bream made 17 stops. Eight defensive saves were made by Maggie Spidel and 2 by Emma Stouffer.
