MID PENN COLONIAL: Gettysburg was the winner of the first Mid Penn Colonial golf match of the season on Monday afternoon at Waynesboro Country Club, but Shippensburg came within one stroke of tying the Warriors.
Gettysburg scored 320 strokes in the tightly contested match. Shippensburg had 321, followed by Northern York (323), Greencastle-Antrim (326), Waynesboro (335) and Chambersburg (340).
Parker Tokar of Gettysburg took medalist honors with an even-par round of 72. Kaden Ramsey of Ship was second with a 74 and Greyhound teammate Kaydee Beckenbaugh took fourth with a 76.
For Greencastle, Camden Eby led the way with a 77, taking fifth, teammate Bryce Davidson tied for 8th with an 80 and Landon Summers tied for 14th with an 83. Waynesboro’s top player was Caiden Shacreaw with an 81.
Chambersburg, which had played for several years in the Commonwealth Division, put only one player in the top 15 — Kole Peiffer shot 83 and tie for 9th. Also for the Trojans, Talan Martin shot 85 and Mason Lehman scored an 86.
