Brady Dressel A Difficult Out As The SoFo Indians easily Defeat The Rockwood Varsity Rockets

Sr., Brady Dressel collected three hits in three at bats, as the SoFo Indians (10-1, 2-1) defeated the Rockwood Rockets 23-4 on Tuesday at Rockwood Area School District. Dressel singled twice in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

The SoFo Indians got on the board in the top of the first inning after Austin Mann singled to center field, and Brooks Norris hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Rockwood jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Garrison Hale singled, scoring two runs, and Lane Svonavec hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

The Indians flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on one hit to take the lead, 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Norris following a 7-pitch at-bat that drove in three.

SoFo then scored 10 runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. An error scored two runs, Mann doubled, scoring one run, Kaden Saunders singled, scoring two runs, Dressel singled, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, and Paul Hendershot singled, scoring one run.

The Indians scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Dressel singled, scoring two runs, Colt Mann singled, scoring one run, Cam Cain grounded out, scoring one run, and Mann singled, scoring one run.

Norris earned the win for SoFo Indians. The righty surrendered five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Cooper Harbaugh took the loss for Rockwood . The hurler went two and one-third innings, allowing 13 runs (12 earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking 10.

SoFo amassed 13 hits in the game. Dressel and Mann each collected three hits for SoFo. Norris and Mann each drove in four runs for SoFo. Mann, Hendershot, and Saunders each collected multiple hits as well for the Indians. SoFo had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Charlie Weicht and Owen Oakman led the team with three walks each.

Eli Show set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Rockwood with two hits in two at bats. Svonavec, Show, and Hale each drove in one run for Rockwood.

SoFo will travel to Everett hoping to avenge their season opening loss for a huge league matchup on Thursday at 4:30pm.
