G-A boys finish 4th at Pan-Ram Invitational

COLONIAL PARK — Greencastle-Antrim produced a pair of first-place finishes at Saturday’s Pan-Ram Invitational in Harrisburg and placed fourth in the boys team standings in the 31-team field.

Noah Parks turned in a time of 1:57.42 to defeat the runner-up by a full second in the 800 race.

The Blue Devils’ 4×100 relay team posted a time of 42.97 to take first place, with Jerry Amstutz, Logan Andou, Cort Bradley and Spencer Long making up the team. The 4×400 team of Bradley, Long, Parks and Amstutz was second with a time of 3:29.78.

Greencastle had two fifth-place finishes — Long in the 100 (10.97) and Reece Plum in the discus (137-9). Taking sixth place were Andou in the 110 hurdles (15.70), Ryan Marquiss in the 300 hurdles (42.01) and Joe Lofton in the pole vault (12-0). Also, Marquiss was eighth in the 110 hurdles (15.91).

The Greencastle girls team, which finished 12th, had four individuals and one relay team place in the top 8.

Bailey Hurley threw the discus 114-0 to place second, and Alyssa Fowler hit 10-6 in the pole vault to become the runner-up.

Also, Chloe Parks was fifth in the long jump (15-10.25), Avery Russell took eighth in the 1600 (5:28.18) and the 4×400 relay team of Kadence Abbott, Parks, Melanie Sharp and Leilah Swain placed seventh in 4:28.04.

For Shippensburg, Rylan Asper won the boys 1600 in a time of 4:33.88, AYden Foust was second in the boys shot put (151-10) and Jolene Patton took fourth in the girls pole vault (9-6).
