The bottom of the lineup had a big day as the SoFo Indians (3-1, 0-1) capture an 11-1, 5 inning victory over the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers on Thursday at Southern Fulton. Brooks Norris and Brady Dressel combined for four of the team’s eight hits in the victory and they scored two runs and drove in four.
The Indians struck early with six runs in the first inning. Austin Mann drew a walk, scoring one run, Owen Oakman drew a walk, scoring one run, Kaden Saunders hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs, Norris singled, scoring one run, and Dressel singled, scoring one run.
The Indians extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Dressel and Cam Cain.
Kaden Saunders earned the win for SoFo Indians. The Sr hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one. Cohen Clark took the loss for Berlin. Brooks Norris appeared in relief for SoFo.
Norris, Austin Mann, and Dressel each collected two hits for SoFo.
The Indians were very patient at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Cain stole three bases.
Next up for the Indians is a game against perennial District 5 foe Northern Bedford on Tuesday in Warfordsburg.
