“What a win,” Chambersbug coach Shane Henry said. “State quickly went up 3-0, and I called a timeout. We refocused and starting chipping away. It was 5-2 them after one quarter and we closed the gap to 7-6 at halftime. We had a lot of strong defensive stances in the third and took the lead at 8-7.

“In the fourth, we just went rogue to seal the 11-8 win. This was an entire group effort tonight.”

Goalie Reese Heverley produced 16 saves, which pushed her over the 200-save mark for her career.

Brynn Sekel was all over the scorebook for Chambersbug (3-2, 3-2 MPC) with 3 goals, an assist, 2 caused turnovers, 2 groundballs and 7 draw controls.

Adele Henry produced 3 goals, 3 assists, 2 caused TOs and 5 groundballs; while Reagan Barrett had 3 goals, an assist and 5 groundballs; Jordyn Sprankle chipped in a goal, 3 caused TOs and a groundball and Callie Yardley-Gontz helped with a goal and one groundball.

Coach Henry said, “I thought Reagan played so confidently under pressure and displayed a ton of leadership. Adele had a great all-around game again and Mollie (Yardley-Gontz) was a big part of the success on defense tonight.

“We were losing the draws in the beginning of the game, so we made some changes and that really turned the tide. Honestly, the stats don’t really show how well this team worked together — it was fun to watch!”
