WAYNESBORO — Chambersburg used a very productive first half to hand Waynesboro a27-point victory in a non-league game at ‘Boro on Monday night.
The Trojans (15-6) took a 24-6 lead after one quarter, then increased it to 42-11 by halftime.
Chambersburg coach Shawn Shreffler said, “We were very crisp and efficient at both ends of the court, especially in the first half. Our defense set the tone and created quite a few offensive chances as a result.”
Colton Cornwell continued his hot streak (5 games of at least 20 points in his last 8 games) with 22 points. In the first quarter, he posted 11 points.
Also for the Trojans, Landon Buhrman and Grayson Kegerreis scored 10 points, and Aedan Walker tallied 8.
“In the second half, it was great to get our backups a lot of time and watch them perform,” Shreffler said. “They give so much at practice to help our team prepare and get better, so it was awesome to get them significant minutes.”
Chambersburg finishes its regular season with a home game vs. Susquehanna Township on Wednesday, and District 3 playoff pairings are expected to be announced Thursday.
For the Indians, who finished 8-14, three players each scored 9 points — Rayshawn Frazier-Hewitt, Carter Hough and Dominic Goodworth.
