BOYS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 100, Carlisle 66: The Trojans wrapped up their Mid Penn Commonwealth slate of meets with a comfortable win over The Thundering Herd on the road Tuesday afternoon.
Chambersburg is 7-1 (4-1 MPC), and if Hershey defeats Cumberland Valley on Thursday, those three teams will tie for the division title, each with one defeat.
All three relays were first-place finishes for the Trojans. The 200 medley relay included Ethan White, Alex Kaczmark, Cullen McGraw and Luke Ritchie (in 1:48.36); in the 200 freestyle relay were Ritchie, White, McGraw and Xavier Covington (1:36.07), while the 400 free included Griffin Adamek, Kaczmark, Kruz Swope and White (3:37.14).
Covington picked up individual wins in the 50 free (23.99) and 100 fly (59.19), while Kaczmark took the 500 free (4:49.68) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.75).
Also claiming victories were Ritchie (200 IM, 2:17.14), Swope (100 free, 57.09) and Adamek (100 back, 58.51).
Trojan coach Chad White said, “Griffin looked very sharp today in the backstroke, which is exciting with the championship meets coming up. Xavier had another double-win meet and Alex and Amir (4:52.33) put up solid times in the 500. Kruz got his first individual win in the 100 free and looked great in all four of his races.”
GIRLS SWIMMING
Carlisle 102, Chambersburg 68: The Trojans earned victories in 3 individual events on Tuesday afternoon in Carlisle, but dropped a Mid Penn Commonwealth meet to the Thundering Herd.
Chambersburg coach Abbie Reichelderfer said, “These girls have been enduring some tougher practices getting them ready to rest themselves in the upcoming days while we look toward the postseason. I am proud of their effort while swimming tired.”
Calla Hoffman picked up a pair of individual wins for Chambersburg (1-7, 0-5 MPC), taking the 200 freestyle in 2:04.41, and the 500 free in 5:30.28.
The other winner was Audrey Keller in the 100 backstroke, posting a time of 1:05.87.
Several Chambersburg swimmers were runners-up in their events — Addie Zimmerman in the 50 and 100 free, Brooke Reichelderfer in the 200 IM, Keller in the 100 fly and Ava Grove in the 100 breaststroke.
Coach Reichelderfer said, “There was again many best times today. Lakin Lescalleet in the 200 free (2:50.72), Brooke Reichelderfer (2:41.62) and Emily Wolfe (3:01.35) in the 200 IM and Jade Uglow in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.39).
