Shalom Lady Flames roll by McConnellsburg

Shalom 62 – McConnellsburg 24

The Shalom Lady Flames went on the road Monday night and earned a commanding 62–24 victory over the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans.

The Flames’ offense struggled in the first half, but their stifling defense more than made up for it. McConnellsburg was limited to just three foul shots and two field goals before halftime, allowing Shalom to build a 23–7 lead at the break. Any offensive issues were quickly corrected at halftime, as the Flames exploded for 26 points in the third quarter. Seniors Maya Lehman and Addison Adams led the charge, with Lehman scoring 16 points and Adams adding 8 in the quarter.

Julianna Myers continues to play a vital supporting role in the team’s success, providing outstanding defense and relentless effort on the boards. Sophomore Sydney Moore has also been impressive, playing lockdown defense and leading the team in blocks.

Offensively, the story of the night belonged to three seniors who have been playing together since sixth grade. Lehman led the Flames with 23 points, including four three-pointers. Emily Rebok added 18 points, while Adams contributed 12. Together, the trio accounted for 53 of the Flames’ 62 points.

The Lady Flames are back in action Thursday at 6:00 PM against West Shore Christian Academy. Thursday will also mark the first night of play in the new gymnasium at Shalom Christian Academy. Come out and enjoy a great night of basketball, beginning with the girls JV game at 3:30 PM.
