McConnellsburg 85, Fannett-Metal 16. A big first half launched the Spartans over the visiting Fannett-Metal Cardinals on January 5th in an ICC matchup. Spartans held the Cardinals to single digit scoring each quarter and a scoreless fourth quarter to completely control the game.
The first quarter was a storm of Spartan three-pointers (six of the game nine), with four from Hoyt Glenn and two from Brayden Ramsey, and fast breaks on Cardinal miscues. The Spartans (8-0, 2-0 ICC-S) built a large 24-point first-quarter lead and by halftime extended it to 49 (their largest this season after two quarters) with the score of 60-11. The running clock was initiated in the third quarter. Twelve Spartan players rotated in to support the victory, with ten contributed to scoring.
McConnellsburg extended their winning streak to eight games with another big performance from Glenn who posted 29 points and had a hot hand shooting 11-13 from the field and 3-3 from the free throw line. Ramsey added 16 points, with Kaden Marpoe off the bench adding 10 points. Jake Hann grabbed 10 boards.
The Spartans had their highest win margin (69) and have also won six games this season by a margin of 36 points or more and three games by 55 points or more.
