GIRLS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 24, Tussey Mountain 43. The Lady Spartans hosted the Tussey Mountain Lady Titans for a non-conference game on December 16th and were held to two of their lowest scoring quarters this season.
The Titans (3-2) restrained the Spartans (4-2, 0-0 ICC-S) with a trapping press and determined defense that held the top Spartan scorers to single digits. The swarming defense frustrated the Spartans causing a plethora of turnovers, forced shots, poor shot selection and low field goal shooting percentage. The Titans won with fast break opportunities, quicker anticipation, offensive rebounds and extra shots, and efficient ball movement to find the open player.
