Blue Devils place 3 in Carlisle event: Greencastle-Antrim wrestlers picked up a pair of sixth-place finishes and one more in eighth place at the Carlisle Boosters Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Ben Jansen was 5-3 to place sixth at 215, and he pinned 3 of his opponents. Kahl Cordell was also sixth, at 114, and he was 2-3 with a pin and major decision. In eighth place was Silas Robertson at 139, who had a 2-3 record with a pin and a technical fall.

Damien Jones also had a winning record, 3-2, with a tech fall and a major decision for Greencastle, which finished 20th in the 24-team event.

Shippensburg placed ninth and had a champion at 107 pounds in Braden Boardman. Abe Luffy was the 152 runner-up, and Asher Horne was 4th at 114.

Waynesboro took 16th, with Steven Howard taking third at 139 and Anthony Ausherman placing fourth at 215.

GIRLS WRESTLING
G-A goes 2-4 at Gettysburg: The Blue Devils won back-to-back tiebreakers to account for their two wins at the Gettysburg Duals Tournament on Saturday.

Greencastle beat Schuylkill Valley 37-36 on tiebreaker F (least number of forfeits, 4-3), then got past Wilson, also 37-36, on tiebreaker J (greater number of points for nearfalls, 6-3).

The Blue Devils also lost to Northern York (48-17), Waynesboro (36-17), Curwensville (36-30) and Camp Hill (72-6).

G-A coach Drew Allshouse said, “We’re just continuing to learn and try to get better each match.”

Aniuta Pavlii led G-A by winning all 6 of her bouts at 112 pounds, and notched 3 pins. Kathryn Bream had a 3-1 record at 136 with 2 pins and Anna Booze (130), Brandy Trail (1242) and Hannah Vazquez were all 3-3.
