BOYS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 59, Middletown 32: The Blue Devils put together a strong first half on the road Wednesday night and comfortably took care of the Blue Raiders in a Mid Penn Colonial game.
Greencastle (2-1, 1-0 MPC) held a 34-14 lead by the end of the first half and cruised from there.
Alex Albright was on fire for G-A, knocking down five 3-pointers on his way to scoring a career-high 28 points. He tallied 12 points in the first period to stake the Blue Devils to an 18-6 lead.
Middletown did not score more than 10 points in any quarter.
Landen Swain scored 7 points for Greencastle and Ryan Schick added 6. For Middletown (0-3), Josh Stains led with 12 points.

Middletown 59, Greencastle-Antrim 40: The Blue Devils trailed by only 3 points early in the third period, but the Blue Raiders pulled away for a Mid Penn Colonial win at Greencastle on Wednesday night.
Jayla Koser was tough for G-A to handle on defense, scoring 23 points, including five 3-pointers. she scored at last 4 points in each quarter for Middletown (3-0, 1-0 MPC).
The Blue Devils (3-2, 0-1 MPC) had a 7-0 run early in the game, but then went about 4 minutes without scoring. They trailed by 10 at halftime and used a quick start in the third to get within 3 points before the Blue Raiders pulled away.
For Greencastle, Kiersten Swain kept her team in the game with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Sophie Fries added 8 point and 6 boards. Ellie Bigler had 6 rebounds and Liv Carey had 5.
G-A coach Scott McKeever said, “I told the girls that this would be a really good measuring stick of where we are early in the season. Middletown plays very fast and challenges you with their skill and speed. I told them after the game that even though the outcome wasn’t what we wanted, it showed we could play with a really good team for a really long time, and will teach us the things we need to focus on.”
