The Shalom Lady Flames had an impressive 59–34 win over the Pequea Valley Lady Braves. The Braves came in with a strong résumé, returning a solid core from last year’s team that reached the District 3 AAA final in Hershey.
The Lady Flames jumped out quickly, fueled by 10 first-quarter points from Emily Rebok, and led 19–12 after the opening period. They continued to extend the margin in the second quarter, taking a 33–21 lead into halftime.
Shalom came out blazing in the third, knocking down four three-pointers by four different players and slamming the door with a dominant 16–3 quarter. The teams played evenly in the fourth, as the Braves were never able to make a run.
On the night the Flames honored Addison Adams for reaching the 1,000-point milestone, she delivered again—scoring 20 points and playing outstanding defense on Braves point guard Janae Patterson. Her sister Harper Adams added three three-pointers on her way to 13 points. Sophomore Sydney Moore scored 11, and Maya Lehman added 5.
Coach Lehman noted that the Flames played the best team defense he’s seen from them in three years. Julianna Myers, playing through an injury suffered on Saturday, came up big on the boards and anchored the interior defense.
The Flames return to action at home against York Country Day on December 19 at 5:45 PM.
