Shippensburg defeated by Red Land

The Red Land Patriots snapped Shippensburg’s six-game winning streak with a 23-7 win over the Greyhounds Friday night at West Shore Stadium.

The Greyhounds’ lone score came in the first quarter with a 25-yard interception return by Drake Eby. Shippensburg converted the extra point to put the Greyhounds up 7-0 at the 5:10 mark.

Red Land tied the score in the opening seconds of the second quarter on Tyson Kirchner’s 1-yard run and the point after to make it 7-7

Kirchner put the Patriots ahead for good with a 29-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Red Land scored two touchdowns in the final 3:10 of the game on a 22-yard run from Quintin Shearer and a 7-yard run from Kirchner.

Shippensburg (6-2) hosts Northern York (0-8) Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
