Southern Fulton Outlasts Northern Bedford in Five Sets

The Southern Fulton varsity volleyball team improved to 8–8 on the season after pulling out an intense five-set victory over Northern Bedford County on Thursday evening. The Lady Indians battled to the finish, taking the match by scores of 25–22, 23–25, 25–20, 24–26, and 15–11.

Claire Harvey delivered an outstanding performance at the net, leading the team with 15 kills. She also recorded 14 service points, five blocks, and eight digs, proving once again to be a dominant force on both offense and defense. Bailey Hull also had another strong outing, finishing with 13 points, six kills, five blocks, and nine digs. Her steady play and ability to come through in big moments gave Southern Fulton a much-needed boost.  Alexis Johnson was a difference-maker all over the court, collecting 12 points, three kills, three blocks, two assists, and seven digs. Her versatility and effort on both sides of the ball kept the Lady Indians steady throughout the back-and-forth battle. Kamryn Pittman continued to spark the defense in the back row, finishing with a team-high 15 digs. She also chipped in nine points and three kills, showing her ability to contribute in every phase of the game. Kennedy Hixon guided the offense effectively with 19 assists, while also tallying nine points and eight digs. Elsie Murray provided timely serving and consistent defensive effort, finishing with nine points and three digs that helped swing momentum in key stretches while Lakyin Hixson helped to round out the team effort with  two digs. 

In the junior varsity contest, Southern Fulton earned a straight-set win, 25–13 and 25–20, improving its record to 4–10.

The Junior High A team also found success, extending its season record to 10–4 with a 2–0 victory by set scores of 25–10 and 25–18.

The Lady Indians will host Forbes Road on Monday, October 6th.
