Southern Fulton falls in four sets to Shade

The Southern Fulton varsity volleyball team battled hard but came up short against Shade on Monday evening, dropping the match 3–1. With the loss, the Indians’ record moved to 7–7 on the season.

SF took the opening set 25–22, but Shade answered back with three straight wins: 25–22, 26–24, and 25–17, to secure the victory.

Claire Harvey led the offense with 14 kills, four blocks, and eight digs, while adding two assists and three service points. Bailey Hull provided strong support at the net with 11 kills, two blocks, 12 digs, one assist, and five points.

Setter Kennedy Hixon dished out 22 assists to go along with 21 digs and seven points. Kamryn Pittman also delivered a strong performance, tallying nine points, five kills, and 17 digs.

Defensively, Elsie Murray collected 13 digs, 10 service points while also adding 2 assists and a kill. Lakyin Hixson added six points, eight digs, and an assist. Alexis Johnson chipped in with a block and two digs to round out the effort.

Despite the loss, SF showed grit in the tight second and third sets, nearly forcing a decisive fifth frame.

Southern Fulton will travel to Windber for their next matchup on Tuesday, September 30th.
