Chambersburg 3, Cedar Cliff 0: The Trojans stayed in the hunt in the Mid Penn Commonwealth by handing the Colts a defeat on Thursday night at Trojan Stadium.
“Tonight was a game we needed to take care of to stay in the title race and we did just that,” Chambersburg coach Corey Grove said. “It was a well-rounded performance from goalkeeper up to our strikers. I thought we controlled the tempo of the game and were patient with our chances.”
Nate Folk scored the first goal for the Trojans, assisted by Noah Mulewich. The second goal came from Mulewich, assisted by Anton Winter. Then Winter finished it off with a goal from Edwin Ramirez Morales.
Grove said, “Nate has really stepped up for the last four games and is a big reason for the success we’ve had in front of the goal,” Grove said. “Anton Winter was excellent on the wing, and he scored after a beautiful through ball by Edwin.
The shots were 18-1 in the Trojans’ favor, as were corner kicks, 7-0. Chambersburg is 7-1-4, and 5-1-2 in MPC games. Mechanicsburg is first at 6-1-1, and Central Dauphin is third at 5-2-1.
