The Southern Fulton Lady Indians battled hard on Thursday night but came up short in a 3–1 loss to county rival McConnellsburg. After taking a tightly contested opening set 25–22, Southern Fulton dropped the next three by scores of 20–25, 26–28, and 16–25.
Claire Harvey led the Lady Indians at the net with 9 kills, 8 blocks, 15 digs, and 5 service points. Bailey Hull added a strong performance with 9 kills, 1 block, 13 points, and 9 digs, while setter Kennedy Hixon handed out 15 assists to go along with 13 digs and a point.
Defensively, Kamryn Pittman anchored the back row with a match-high 19 digs while also recording 13 service points and 1 kill. Elsie Murray chipped in 11 digs, 5 points, and 2 assists, with Lakyin Hixson adding 10 digs and 4 points. Alexis Johnson contributed all-around with 2 points, 1 kill, 2 assists, and 2 digs.
With the loss, Southern Fulton moves to 7–4. They will welcome Meyersdale for their next match on Tuesday, September 23rd.
