The Greencastle-Antrim Athletic Hall of FameCommittee is proud to announce the Class of 2025 inductees.
The Class of 2025 is made up of six inductees, including one state championship team, one state individual champion, two outstanding athletes, one outstanding coach and one major contributor to the athletic program at Greencastle-Antrim High School.
1985 Girls Cross Country Team
The Greencastle-Antrim 1985 Girls Cross Country season had one of those dream seasons, running through the dual meet season 7 and 0 and winning the Franklin County, Tri State, Boonsboro and the State College invitationalsalong the way leading up to the championship season. They won the regular season of the Blue Mountain, topping it off with a win at the conference championship meet as well. Then it was a win at the District 3 meet that sent them to states as the number two seed. However, putting forth their best race at the year at the right time, the girls picked up the state championship trophy, taking 1st place with 230 points over second place Chief Logan with 244. It was the very first state title for a girls’ teamfrom Greencastle-Antrim.
Toby Fritz
Toby graduated from Greencastle-Antrim in 1988. In 1987 he captured the PIAA State Championship in the discus. He followed that up the following year with the runner up position in the same event. He was a three-time letter winner in track and field and a two-time letter winner in football for the Blue Devils. He held the discus record at Greencastle-Antrim for nearly 30 years. He continued his throwing career at Shippensburg University, where he was a four-year letter winner for the Red Raiders, and took 3rd place in the discus in the PSAC Championships in 1990 and set the indoor hammer throw for Shippensburg University Track and Field. Toby has spent 35 years to date in human resources and currently serves as Executive Director of a public behavioral health organization in Virginia.
Tod Barkdoll
A 1977 Graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School, Tod collected 10 varsity letters while being a three-sport star for the Blue Devils. He collected four letters in varsity soccer, and set a school record 69 goals. Thatrecord lasted 30 years. He was a three-time South Penn League All-Star as well as a three-time Public Opinion All-Star. In basketball, Tod started and lettered for three straight years, finishing with a total of 730 points in the era before the three-point shot was put into play. As a basketball player, he was a two-time Public Opinion All-Star. In the spring, Tod’s sport was baseball, and again, he was a three-year starter and letterman, and again was a two-time Public Opinion All-Star. He led his team to a 1975 Blue Mountain League Championship. He continued his athletic career at Hagerstown Junior College and Francis Marion College, and later signed as a free agent with the San Fransico Baseball organization in 1981. When Tod returned to Greencastle, he continued his support of Blue Devil athletics by serving as the 7th and 8th grade basketball coach for five years as well as serving as the high school JV head coach for a year.
Chad Wiestling
Graduating in 1990 from Greencastle-Antrim, Chad lettered in four sports during his athletic career for the Blue Devils. He received four letters in football, three in basketball, two in baseball and one in track and field. Though he played four different sports, his claim to fame came in football, where he was a four-year starter. As a running back, he rushed for over 1000 yards in two different years and set the all-time career rushing record at 2,587 yards, which he held for 10 years. Along with that, he had 1,308 receiving yard in the four years and scored 40 touchdowns in his career at GA. He also had eight interceptions as a defensive back. His accolades are too many to mention though it should be noted he was the first Greencastle-Antrim football player to ever play in the prestigious BIG 33 All-Star Classic. Upon graduation, he took his talents to the University of Maryland, where he was a four-year starter and letterman for the Terrapins. He played as a true freshman and played both offense and defense throughout his career at the division one school. Upon graduation, he enjoyed a four-year professional career in the Arena League Football and has served as a graduate assistant at his alma mater during that time. He has served as a pro personnel scouting assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Oakland Raiders. He is currently President and CEO of the Black Label Sports Group, a sports agency that represents professional football players.
Delbert Myers
Delbert or Mr. Myers, as he was known by his students, is the first inductee in the Hall of Fame under the contributor classification. His contribution to the athletic department at Greencastle-Antrim are many and varied. He was a student athlete, playing soccer for four years and well as participating on the Track and Field team for four years. On the soccer field, he captained the team during his senior year as well as being selected as an All-Conference First Team Allstar. During his time on the track, he was a member of the record setting two-mile relay team. His soccer skills took him to Slippery Rock University where he was a two-year letterman. He returned to Greencastle after college graduation to teach and coach and began his long career helping students. He taught at the high school for 34 years. He coached middle school football for one year, then high school soccer for eight years. He was the very first head coach for the girls track and field program and served in that capacity for 8 years. He served as a class advisor for six years. After a break from coaching, he returned to soccer as the assistant girls coach in which he served for two years. At that point in his career, he took on the responsibility of Athletic Director for both the high school and middle school. Upon retirement from fulltime education, he went back to coaching again, serving as an assistant boys and girls track coach, then a volunteer high school girls soccer coach, then a high school boys assistant coach. Since 1983 he has and still continues to officiate high school and middle school track and field events. And he continues to serve as game manager for many athletic events at Greencastle-Antrim. From student athlete to head of the athletic department, Mr. Myers continues to contribute to the Greencastle-Antrim High School athletics.
Chuck Tinninnis
Coach Tinninnis arrived at Greencastle-Antrim in the fall of 1986 as a Wellness and Driver’s Edteacher and assistant varsity football coach. The very next year he was promoted to head varsity football coach, a position he held for 30 years, making him one of the very few individuals in the state to coach varsity football 30 years at the same high school. Before arriving at GA, he had served as an assistant coach at Liberty High School for a year and at his alma mater, East Stroudsburg University. He was a 1980 graduate of Marian High School where he was a standout football player and then played his college ball at East Stroudsburg, where he graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Health, Physical Education and Drivers Education. As head coach, Coach Tinninnis teams won four Mid Penn Colonial Conference champions and was honored with numerous Coach of the Year Awards. He was selected coach for the Mid Penn All Star games for eight years and was also selected as a coach for the Pennsylvania East/West All Star game. He is perhaps most proud of sending 60 students to play college football. During his 34-year teaching career at Greencastle-Antrim, Chuck served as the Wellness Department Head for 30 years, Weight Club Advisor for 31 years and on the athletic support staff for 31 years.
The committee will recognize the inductees at halftime of the October 3rd home football game. The following evening, a banquet will be held to honor the Class of 2025.
