Chbg. roundup: Golfers finish in 6th place

Chambersburg comes in 6th: The Mid Penn Commonwealth held a match at Hershey Country Club on Thursday and the Trojans had to settle for sixth place in the 6-team event.

Hershey, the host team, won the match with a total of 288 strokes, while Chambersburg (1-9) had 354, just 2 behind Lower Dauphin.

For the Trojans, Max Piper shot an 80 to tie for 19th place. Piper shot a 40 on both the front and back nines, and he scored a pair of birdies, on No. 8 and No. 15.

Kole Peiffer shot 85 to take 29th place and Mason Lehman was tied for 30th with an 87. Three other Trojans shot 91 to tie for 34th place — Kasen Shaffer, Thomas Johnston and Talan Martin.
