Rockwood downs Fannett Metal

Fannett-Metal took the field after 13 days off and struggled in all phases of the game.  The Rockets jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a couple defensive miscues and added three insurance runs in the 7th in cruising to the 7-3 victory.

The Tigers scored just one run through six innings before pushing two runs across in the bottom of the 7th.  “ Our offense was just horrible tonight.  Too many strikeouts and we really didn’t hit much hard against their pitching.  Maybe the layoff had something to do with it, but we have to be more competitive at the plate”, Coffman said.

Landon Arnold took the loss on the mound.  He was charged with four runs, two earned, six hits, and he walked four.  He had nine strikeouts.  Wade Appleby worked in relief giving up three runs, all earned, two hits, and three walks.  He had 1 K.

The Tigers offense sputtered with only three hits on the day.  Landon Arnold had an RBI double.  Tucker Seibert had a double and Jake Coffman had a single in the 7th. Noah Naugle had a RBI.

The Tigers have four games on slate next week.  Monday vs Shalom, Tuesday vs Windber, Thursday at East Juniata, and Friday at Forbes Road.   All games start at 4:30.
