McConnellsburg Shuts Out Everett Behind Strong Performance from Hall

McConnellsburg 3 Everett 0.  Kohen Hall dominated on the mound with 12 strikeouts in the Spartans’ 3-0 win over visiting Everett Warriors in an ICC game contest on April 9th

Hall allowed one hit and no runs over five and two-thirds innings, walking three.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Spartans’ pitchers struck out 15, while Everett managed six.

The Spartans opened the scoring in the bottom of the fifth with two singles, the first from Finn Kuhn scoring Hall, and the second from Jace Fletcher, scoring Gavin DeShong.  In the sixth inning the Spartans scored a third run when Hall singled, scoring Ben Sattazahn.

Chase Sherwood took the loss for Everett, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits over six innings, striking out six and walking three.

Kade Gress secured the save, pitching one and one-third innings with three strikeouts and no walks.

The Spartans collected nine hits. Hall and Hoyt Glenn had two hits each, while Hall, Fletcher, and Kuhn drove in one run each. The Spartans committed no errors.

Cody Spade led the Warriors with one hit in three at bats.

McConnellsburg (4-3 (1-1 ICC-S)) will play a non-conference game at home on Friday at 4:30 pm against Claysburg-Kimmel (5-1 (1-1 ICC-E)).
