Sr, Joel Fitz collected three hits in four at bats, as Southern Fulton 3-0 (2-0) defeated Northern Bedford County 11-1 on Saturday in New Enterprise in an ICC crossover contest. Fitz singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
The Indians opened up the game with eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Ty Kagarise induced Austin Mann to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, Kagarise induced Owen Oakman to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Kaiden Schriever singled, scoring two runs, Fitz singled, scoring one run, and Jett Burger singled, scoring two runs.
The Indians opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Southern Fulton first got on the board when Burger singled, scoring one run.
Jr, Owen Oakman (2-0) earned the win for Southern Fulton . The pitcher gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking none. Reece Musselman opened the game for Northern Bedford County. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one.
Southern Fulton piled up nine hits in the game. Burger and Oakman each drove in three runs for Southern Fulton.
Next up for the Indians is a game at Everett on Monday, 24 March (originally scheduled for March 25th but game had to be moved due to an official shortage).
