Southern Fulton Indians take lead and never look back in win over Everett

The Southern Fulton Indians (2-0, 1-0) easily dispatched the Everett Warriors 10-2, on Monday in Warfordsburg.

The Indians got on the board in the second inning when Kaiden Schriever singled, scoring two runs. SF was able to tack on another run in the third when Mark Fitz hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 3-0.

The Indians opened up the game for good when they scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, Brooks Norris drew a walk, scoring one run, Schriever hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, a Trentin Cain fielder’s choice plated one run, and Joel Fitz singled, scoring one run.

Joel Fitz earned the win for Southern Fulton. The Senior hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Sophomore, Cam Cain appeared in relief for Southern Fulton and threw 3 innings, giving up 2 runs and 3 hits while striking out 4.

SF piled up nine hits in the game. Mann drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Indians with three runs batted in. The Junior catcher went 2-for-4 (triple and home run) on the day. Fitz set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading SF with three hits in four at bats.

Southern Fulton will travel to Loysburg for a big game against ICC cross divisional foe, Northern Bedford County, on Saturday at 1:00pm.
