GIRLS BASKETBALL
Chambersburg 60, Shalom Christian 26: The Trojans snapped an 8-game losing skid with a non-league victory over Shalom Christian at CASHS Field House on Saturday afternoon.
The Flames (15-3) are having a good first season as a PIAA school and are currently ranked No. 2 in the District 3 Class 2A rankings. Chambersburg is now 4-16).
Shalom had trouble with the size of Riley Evans inside. Evans scored 23 points to reach at least 20 points for the fourth time this season, and also had 7 rebounds.
Maddie Mills was a factor from outside, scoring 9 of her 16 points on 3-pointers. Tori Price contributed 9 points and 4 rebounds, Marley White had 5 rebounds and Selena Warren distributed 6 assists.
For the Flames, Emily Rebok scored 9 points and Sydney Moore added 7 points. Addison Adams, usually one of Shalom’s top scorers, got into early foul trouble.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Trojans go 5-1 in duals tourney: Chambersburg finished its dual meet season Saturday by winning 5 of 6 matches in the Elco Duals Tournament.
The Trojans defeated Phillipsburg-Osceola (33-5), Kutztown (42-6), Lampeter-Strasburg (30-13), Kennard-Dale (33-24) and Annville-Cleona (40-12), and was defeated 42-35 by Elco. In the loss to the Raiders, Chambersburg won 6 of the 7 matches wrestled, but gave up 6 forfeits.
“I continue to be excited about the future of this sport in Chambersburg,” coach Josh Sherman said. “The growth of this team has been on full display in the last 3 weeks as they went on a 9-1 season-ending stretch.
“And I’m excited to begin the individual postseason at Sectionals next Friday (at Mechanicsburg).”
Four Trojans went 6-0 on Saturday — Jessica Li at 106 (with 3 pins), Reagan Evans at 130 (3 pins), Haydn Fritz at 142 (4 pins) and Aulana Stanton at 170 (2 pins).
Daryn Glasgow had a 5-1 mark at 155, Alba Rojas was 4-2 at 136 with 3 pins and Lillybeth Alcantras was 4-2 at 190 with a pin.
Fritz trailed 9-0 against A-C’s Julie Goss, but reversed her to her back and scored a comeback pin.
