GIRLS BASKETBALL
Carlisle 48, Chambersburg 40: The Trojans outscored the Thundering Herd 23-10 in the fourth period, but it came a little too late in a Mid Penn Commonwealth loss on the road Friday night.
Maddie Mills and Tori Price each hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth and Riley Evans scored 8 points. But Carlisle made 8 of 14 free throws in the fourth to remain ahead.
For the game, Chambersburg (3-16, 2-12 MPC) was called for 21 fouls and the Herd (9-11, 6-8 MPC) went to the line 28 times, making 16.
Mills led the Trojans with 20 points and 4 steals. Evans totaled 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Price had 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals. Selena Warren had 4 assists and Marley White grabbed 6 rebounds.
Carlisle, which held Chambersbug to just 3 points in the first and third quarters, got 13 points from Ny Hairston and 12 from Isla Heckman.

DIVING
Keagan Myers 3rd at Mid Penns: Keagan Myers placed third in the Mid Penn Conference boys diving meet on Thursday at Cumberland Valley and teammate Nolan Diehl also qualified for the District 3 meet.
Myers scored 373.15 points and finished behind Bryce Hammel (428.40) and Ryan Macfee (385.60), also of Hershey. Diehl placed seventh with 253.90 points, and Parker Miller finished in 10th with 224.75.
Trojan diving coach Heather Brindle said, “I was proud of all the boys tonight. Parker saved some of his best dives for this meet. Nolan was pretty consistent throughout the meet and qualified for districts as a sophomore. Keagan had a strong performance. His forward 2 1/2 somersault was extremely impressive and scored almost 50 points on it.”
On Wednesday, he Mid Penn girls held their meet. For Chambersburg, Ada Velazquez placed 13th with 227.85 and Jillian Johnson was next with 208.25 points.
“They were both consistent during the meet,” Brindle said. “Ada had a great season for a first-year diver.”
