Chambersburg roundup: Trojan wrestlers go 4-1 at duals event

Chambersburg are 4-1 at Red Lion: The Trojans wrestled 5 dual meets at the Rumble in the Jungle dual meet tournament at Red Lion on Saturday.

After a 42-35 win over New Oxford, Chambersburg lost to Bermudian Springs, 44-25. They then finished with wins over Red Lion (53-22), Lower Dauphin (52-18) and Muhlenburg (54-22).

The Trojans are likely getting the No. 10 seed for the District 3 Team Championships. The official pairings are not released until Sunday morning, but as of Saturday night, Chambersburg (12-3) will take on No. 7 Donegal (11-2), while No. 15 West Perry (15-5) will wrestle No. 2 Central York (12-0) in the first round at Central York at 6 p.m. The quarterfinals will follow with the winners meeting.

In the loss to Bermudian (15-3), the Trojans led 8-6, but the Eagles won each of the next 7 bouts to clinch the win.

Cambersbug had 5 wrestlers put up 4-1 records Saturday — Isaac Brambley (107), Cody Seabolt (114), Zach Sherman (127), Ashton Romberger (139) and Jaccob Stoner (189). Also, Ethan Pazkowski (133), Justin Deneen (145) and Frank Barrientos (285) were each 3-1.

DIVING
Trojans earn 3 places: Chambersburg sent 3 boys divers to the Mercersburg Academy Invitational on Saturday, and all 3 placed in the top 4 of the meet.

Keagan Myers earned first place with a score of 250.60, Nolan Diehl was second with 154.75 points and Parker Miller took fourth with 107 points.

“Everyone dove well and Nolan and Parker debuted new dives,” Chambersburg coach Heather Brindle said. “Keagan dove consistently well in all six dives and he got his highest score ever in a six-dive meet.”

Mercersburg’s Luntu Radebe placed first among the girls with 210.15 points.
