BOYS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 37, West Perry 34: The Blue Devils survived a defensive struggle against the Mustangs and won for the second time in three games on Thursday night in a Mid Penn Colonial game at G-A.

West Perry (8-9, 3-8 MPC) took a 19-14 lead into halftime thanks to a 10-point second period by Braedon McKeever (he ended up with 15 points).

But then Carter McCauley, who had just 2 points at halftime, got it going for Greencastle (6-10, 4-6 MPC), scoring 14 of his 16 points in the second half. Alex Albright helped out by scoring 9 points.

The Blue Devil defense held the Mustangs to just 9 field goals, but West Perry stayed in the game by making 13 of 18 free throws, while G-A hit only 3 of 7 at the line.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 49, West Perry 40: The Blue Devils took the lead early for the first time in a couple of weeks and used that to defeat the Mustangs in a Mid Penn Colonial game Thursday night in Elliottsburg.

Greencastle (7-9, 5-5 MPC), which ended a 4-game losing skid, led 17-7 after one quarter, and led 39-25 after three quarters. The big difference was cutting turnovers down — G-A, which has missed injured point guard Eva Martin for the past 5 games, had only 4 in the first half.

Sophie Fries shot 6-for-7 from the field and scored a career-high 13 points for the Blue Devils, Kiersten Swain put in 10 points and Ellie Bigler had 9 points and 5 assists. Callie Izer and Meadow Gambacurta each pulled down 7 rebounds.

For West Perry (4-12, 3-8 MPC), Hayley Page scored 12 points.
