Chambersburg 39, CD East 24; Chambersburg 40, Bishop McDevitt 15: The Trojans evened their record at 4-4 by taking down the Panthers and Crusaders in a Mid Penn Conference tri-meet on Thursday evening in Harrisburg.

“We didn’t wrestle tough last night (in a loss to Shippensburg),” Chambersburg coach Josh Sherman said. “So on the heels of that, the word tonight was ‘fight,’ whether on your feet, on top, or off bottom. And we did that.”

Against CD East (1-6), the Trojans got pins from Jessica Li (112), Reagan Evans (130) and Lillybeth Alcantaras (235), and Alba Rojas captured a 12-6 decision, thanks to outscoring her opponent 8-0 in the third period.

In the match vs. McDevitt (0-3), Evans and Alcantaras scored their second pin of the night, and Aulana Stanton notched a fall at 190. In addition, Daryn Glasgow produced a major decision (18-9) and Hadyn Fritz lost a close one, going to sudden victory before falling 9-2.

Sherman said, “We bumped some of our girls to cover the weights and it worked out well. Lillybeth moved up and got us two pins.”
