Middletown 48, Greencastle-Antrim 31: Baskets were hard to come by Tuesday night at Middletown, as the host Blue Raiders and the Blue Devils combined for only 79 points in a Mid Penn Colonial slugfest.

A 31-17 advantage in the middle two periods made the difference for Middletown (9-5, 8-0 MPC). Aleel Batts was the top scorer with 19 points.

For Greencastle (4-8, 2-5 MPC), the top scorers were Carter McCauley and Landen Swain with 8 each, and Alex Albright with 7.

It was the Blue Devils’ third straight defeat and its lowest point of the season by 10 points.

Middletown 52, Greencastle-Antrim 26: The Blue Raiders took control of the game early and never let up to capture a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the host Blue Devils on Tuesday night.

Middletown (14-0, 8-0 MPC), which is ranked No. 1 in Class 5A in District 3, scored on its first six possessions to grab a 15-3 lead and ran it up to 25-9 after one quarter.

Greencastle (6-6, 4-3 MPC) struggled on offense against the Blue Raiders, making only 4 baskets in the first half and just 9 for the game.

G-A did hold Middletown to just 13 points in the second half, but couldn’t make a dent in the big lead.

Callie Izer scored 7 points, had 6 rebounds and 3 steals for Greencastle, while Kiersten Swain had 5 points and a pair of rebounds.
