Central Dauphin 48, Chambersburg 17: The Trojans put up a good fight against the Rams’ established program in a Mid Penn Conference dual meet Monday night at CASHS Field House.
CD (9-1) used four forfeits to pile up 24 points. In the eight bouts wrestled, each team won four, and the score in those matches was 18-17 in favor of the Rams.
“They have a full lineup and we don’t, so we had to spot them a bunch of points,” Chambersburg coach Josh Sherman said. “I thought we wrestled really well. I told the girls to get after them and do what you can do, and they did.”
The Trojans (1-2) got their only pin from unbeaten Reagan Evans at 130 pounds. She led 3-0 in the second period when she pinned her for in 3:11.
Sherman said, ” Reagan did well against a good opponent tonight. She wore her down before she got the pin.”
Jessica Li (106) and Mackenzie Miller (155) both had major decisions. Li used 3 takedowns to build her lead, while Miller put up 3 takedowns plus a nearfall.
Aulana Stanton picked up the other win at 170, using a third-period reversal to edge CD’s Madison Rife.
