BOYS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 86, Central Dauphin 84: The Trojans won 10 of the 11 events, but still had to claw for everything because of the Rams’ depth in a tight Mid Penn Commonwealth victory on Tuesday afternoon at the Chambersburg YMCA.
In the last event, the 400 freestyle relay, CD gained its first win, but because the Chambersburg team of Xavier Covington, Griffin Adamek, Thomas McCullough and Cullen McGraw finished second, it clinched the team win.
Trojan coach Chad White said, “Toward the middle of the meet, it was looking like we’d tie or lose by two. We needed Cullen and Xavier to go 1-2 in the 100 backstroke and Colby (Evans) to take fourth. We got that, then Ethan (White) had to win the breaststroke and our 400 relay had to take at least second. They came through for us and it was a great win.”
Amir Tasker won the 50 and 100 free races, both in pool record time — 24.26 in the 50 and 53.71 in the 100.
Alex Kaczmark won the 200 free in 2:01.46 and the butterfly in 58.74 and McGraw won the 200 IM (2:20.0) and backstroke (1:03.11), while Ethan White won the 400 free (4:31.29) and breaststroke (1:12.10).
In the first two relays, first place was won by Chambersburg (1-1, 1-1 MPC) in the 200 medley (Covington, White Kaczmark, Tasker) in 1:53.03, and the 200 free (Tasker Kaczmark, White, McGraw) in 1:42.49.
Coach White said, “That was a very intense but fun meet. CD has some incredible depth.”
GIRLS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 96, Central Dauphin 74: The Trojans won all three relay races, which helped them overtake the Rams in a competitive Mid Penn Commonwealth meet Tuesday afternoon at the Chambersburg YMCA.
“It was a great team win and we were competitive all night,” Chambersburg coach Hali Cormany said. “We won 10 of the 11 events and fought for those other places to score points. The girls were really excited to get the relay wins and the overall meet victory.”
The relays included Calla Hoffman, Ava Grove, Audrey Keller and Lilly Evans in the 200 medley (2:12.46), Hoffman, Lauren Markle, Grove and Margot Ritchie in the 200 freestyle (2:01.24), and Evans, Kayla Wolfe, Keller and Ritchie in the 400 free (4:27.66).

Also picking up individual wins were Keller in the 200 IM (2:38.91), Evans in the 200 free (2:25.88) and Grove in the breaststroke (1:26.0).
