Chambersburg roundup: CV stifles Trojan girls’ offense

Cumberland Valley 52, Chambersburg 20: The Trojans, missing their post presence in Riley Evans, did not have a good offensive game and were handled by the Eagles on Friday night at CASHS Field House in a Mid Penn Commonwealth contest.

Chambersburg (2-2, 1-1 MPC) managed only 8 baskets, and was 1-for-6 at the foul line.

“Missing Riley Evans tonight makes a big difference for us,” Trojan coach Jamiur King said. “Our girls did play hard; I won’t take that away from them.

“Selena Warren continues to provide a spark. Ayla Whiteley grew for us tonight. Bella Noel provided a lot of energy off the bench. We learned a lot tonight and we are better for it.”

Tori Price led the scoring with 6 points, while Whiteley and Maddie Mills each scored 5 points. For CV (3-2, 1-1 MPC), Payton Basehore scored 13 points.
